Now you have your planner you have all you need to help you to increase your productivity and focus and reduce stress and overwhelm. The best thing about MY PA is it’s as easy as 1234 and very effective.
The secret to your planning success is CONSISTENCY. If you keep to the system it will work for you. Use it daily and the more you use the better you will get at planning.
If you are running or starting a business then I would highly recommend completing the business plan section but this post is mainly about how to use your planner to achieve your goals, how to maximise your productivity on a daily basis.
Brain Dump
The first thing to do is to clear your mind of all the clutter, to do’s and ideas you have in your head. Simply use a page at the back of your planner to do a brain dump. You can also use the space in the Idea and inspiration vault and you will find that at the end of each week. The idea in to start you off with a clear mind. Many of these things may be mundane but need to be done but maybe not in your most productive time.Set Goals.
Now open the goals section at the beginning of the month. Think carefully about what your main focus is this month. What is the big picture? What do you want to achieve by the last day of this month? Ask yourself what is the most important thing is that will make ‘The difference’ Then write down your goals for the month and a short sentence about how you are going to do that.List Your Projects & Tasks
Now you have the main goals you need to list all the tasks and projects you need to do to achieve those goals. You can also give your project a priority number and also detail who will do these tasks/projects and how long they will take. If you are using the social media planner then use that to plan your content.Schedule
Now time to plan your week. Make sure you add everything from your project planner into your daily schedule by time blocking. List the 3 most important things in the daily goals section and schedule them into your day.Make sure you add your breaks and also time to exercise and downtime. Also, check the list you wrote at the beginning and schedule a time for all those things. I also find adding 30 mins or an hour for unscheduled ad-hoc tasks like email, calling the bank, checking social media other things that we always end up doing but were not necessarily planned for.
You'll start making time for all your priorities and life will become easier and more productive.
Remember everything takes time and once you write all this time it will get you used to being realistic with your time so you are not continually overwhelmed and racing against the clock.
You can do this whenever you like but I find either Friday afternoon ( to prepare for the follow wing week or Sunday night is a really good time. This way you can relax in the knowledge that you know exactly what you want to do when you wake up on Monday.
